The Delta Police Department (DPD) and Surrey RCMP have collaboratively worked on two recent stabbing investigations. On Feb 1, they have made and arrest with approval of charges related to these incidents.

On January 16th, 2024, Surrey RCMP received a report of an unidentified man stabbing a woman in the 12200-block of 84 Avenue.

On January 23rd, 2024, the DPD responded to a report of an unknown man stabbing a woman in the 8100-block of 120 Street.

In both cases, victims sustained minor physical injuries; however, it is believed such incidents can have a lasting impact on the victims. A joint investigation by Surrey RCMP and the DPD identified the suspect as a 17-year-old youth. The individual has now been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

As the accused is a minor and the investigation is currently before the courts, no additional information is available for disclosure.
