LINC English literacy courses, available through the Continuing Education branch of Delta School District, have recently expanded to include three more locations in Delta. This expansion aims to enhance learning opportunities for new Canadians.

Funded by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) offers free tuition to eligible participants. These courses focus on providing basic to intermediate-level English training for adult newcomers to Canada.

The LINC program is open to permanent residents of Canada and Convention refugees aged 17 and above. Before joining classes, prospective LINC students must undergo a language ability assessment at the nearest Language Assessment Centre.

In addition to English language skills, LINC students gain knowledge about Canadian laws, healthcare, the job market, community resources, and other essential aspects of life in Canada. While the main campus is at Delta Community College in North Delta, additional classes are available at Seaquam Secondary, Delta Manor Education Centre (Ladner), and North Delta Secondary.
