Comfy casino chair floors Kelowna man with nearly $1.5M win

‘Holy cow, that’s not possible!’

A Kelowna man couldn’t believe his luck after he realized he won $1.485 million on a Wheel of Fortune Lucky Coins slot machine at Chances Casino.

“Holy cow, that’s not possible!” Greg Moroso said of his jackpot win on March 22. He was making $3 wagers on a Powerbucks progressive slot machine.

“Quite frankly, I just wanted to sit down in a nice, comfortable chair for a little bit, so the win was a big plus,” Moroso added.

He called his partner on FaceTime right away to share the news with her.

“She said she went numb when I told her. She was so shocked and it didn’t sink in for her until about 48 hours later,” he said.

Moroso will be checking off bucket list items with the win including an Eagles concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas and buying an RV to travel across Canada.

“I’m going to get some good seats for the concert,” he said. “This win takes away any worries and will provide a comfortable retirement where I can focus on family.”

Wheel of Fortune Lucky Coins is one of two Powerbucks-linked slot machines in Chances Casino Kelowna offering players the chance to trigger bonuses and win cash or even the progressive jackpot, which starts at $1 million and grows as players place bets across participating B.C. and Canadian casinos.
