The G-Men, a few of them at least being SpongeBob SquarePants fans, are setting aside a night to help sick kids, again.
Vancouver Giants, in partnership with the Western Hockey League, announced details this week about their upcoming Nickelodeon Night for Children’s Miracle Network.
On Saturday, Feb. 24, when they faceoff against the Kamloops Blazers, the Giants will be sporting a SpongeBob SquarePants theme.
Nickelodeon Nights for Children’s Miracle Network debuted during the 2022-23 WHL regular season – a charitable initiative driven by Re/Max in partnership with Paramount Global, the parent company of global kids and family brand Nickelodeon.
That inaugural edition of Nickelodeon Nights saw nearly $160,000 raised in support of Children’s Hospital Foundations across Western Canada, which included money raised from the Giants Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Night.
“RE/MAX is thrilled to once again collaborate with the WHL this season, in this initiative geared toward kids, in support of kids,” said Christopher Alexander, the Re/Max Canada president.
“The money raised will help fund the lifesaving work of Children’s Miracle Network in many of the communities that Re/Max serves and calls ‘home’,” Alexander added.
The Giants’ SpongeBob Squarepants Night will include special activities where fans will have chances to win prizes, both in-game and online.
Fans will also have a chance to win the unique themed jerseys through a jersey raffle, with net proceeds going to BC Children’s Hospital. Details on how the raffle will work will be released at a later date.
“We’re looking forward to once again partnering with Re/Max for this unique game night, which was a big hit last year,” said Peter Toigo, the Giants’ vice-president of operations.
“The Children’s Miracle Network does amazing work and we’re glad our game night can help raise critical funds right here at home for BC Children’s Hospital.”
The Children’s Miracle Network funds critical treatments and health-care services, pediatric medical equipment, and research.
Re/Max has been partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network for 30 years.
