The Vancouver Giants have kept busy, inking another one of their Western Hockey League bantam draft picks.
The Giants announced the signing of third-round pick Krz Plummer to a WHL standard player agreement.
They have now signed three of their top four picks from the draft in early May.
“It’s been a dream of mine for a while,” said Plummer of signing with Vancouver.
“I’m super happy to finally sign, and I’m really excited for the future.”
He can play in five games with the Giants next season before his midget season ends.
Plummer is a six-foot, 200-pound forward, is from Whitecourt, Alta.
He had eight goals and 20 points in 27 games with the Pursuit of Excellence bantam prep team and then another two goals ans six points in five games to help his team win the Bantam Prep championship. Competing at the Alberta Cup in April, he had four goals and one assist in five games for Team Northwest.
“Krz is an all-around player who has a strong physical side to his game and excels in the tough areas of the rink,” said Vancouver general manager Glen Hanlon.
“His size is above average for his age, and we think he’s going to be someone who can control the boards and control the front of the net. He was eager to come and play for the Giants, and we’re excited to add him to our group.”
