29 March 1931 – 31 May 2017
Vivia left us this morning for a prettier garden. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Lene and in October of last year her husband, Frank Nemeth. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Lou (Alison) Du Hamel and Guy (Leah) Du Hamel; stepsons Mark (Tamara), and Collin (Sheila); 10 grandchildren: Ca Sandra, Livia, Alec, Charles, Desmond, Kelsey, Brent, Elishia, Kyle, and Mitchell; one great-granddaughter Lucy; and sister, Verna Hayward and all her nieces and nephews. Vivia was born in Consort, Alberta to Charles and Bertha Bryan during the height of the Depression and grew up in Whonnock, BC. For many years she lived in Matsqui Village where she served as the local Postmaster and raised her two fine boys. In 1986 she and Frank built their dream home in Ocean Park, South Surrey where they hosted many happy family events, including her yearly Easter Egg Hunt in their big backyard (rain or shine!). In 2015 Vivia moved to Ladner to be closer to her family. She will be lovingly remembered for her generosity, sense of humour and wonderful creativity that produced many stuffed critters and beautiful quilts. A gathering of her friends and family will be held at the Delta Funeral Home in Ladner, BC on Friday, June 16 at 2:00 pm. Remembrances would be appreciated to the BC Cancer Society or the Delta Hospital Foundation. Delta Funeral Home (604) 946.6040
