In Loving Memory ~

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Exelby.

Beloved husband of 62 years to Esther, dad to Wendy (Eric), Candace, Geraldine and Kevin (Kristen). Grandpa to Nicholas, Cody, Cameron and Kylie.

Jim was born in Davidson, Saskatchewan in 1934, the 8th of 10 children. He moved to Regina where he started working at Regina Light and Power.

After his marriage to Esther 1961 and the birth of their 3 girls, the family moved to Prince George in 1967, where their son was born and Jim started working for B.C. Hydro.

They moved to Surrey in 1971 where Jim continued with Hydro until his retirement in 1990. He held the honor of being the first and last Cableman in Surrey.

Jim was an active member of the community and the Lutheran Church, always involved in various organizations such as the North Surrey Lions, Power Pioneers, Shepherd of the Valley Seniors and Crossing Guards. He spent many hours flipping burgers and pancakes or delivering Christmas baskets.

He could always be depended on when the need was there for a body to help out.

Jim loved to travel and he and Esther went from coast to coast in both the USA and Canada. They also took many enjoyable trips with friends to Arizona, cruised to Alaska and the Caribbean and spent many weekends camping in their RV with family and friends.

Jim was a kind-hearted and caring person who will be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Spring, 2024.
