November 29, 1957 - June 28, 2021
It is with loving memory that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Mercer on June 28, 2021, at age 63, in Surrey, BC. She is fondly remembered by her best friend of many years, Ellen Blight and family.
Survived by her mother Helen and father Charles (d. 2018), brothers Stephen (Kathleen d. 2008) and Scott (David), niece Danielle (Becky), nephew Sean (Tessa) and their children Fiona and Leon.
Carolann was born on November 29, 1957 New Westminster, BC. She was an avid learner who graduated from Westsyde Secondary School, Kamloops (1975). She received an Outstanding Achievement award during her quest for her Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics at SFU, class of 2000.
Cyan enjoyed teaching ESL in the Greater Vancouver area as long as her health allowed. She spent her final years in Surrey where she was reunited with her cousin Mary (Phelan) Stace-Smith.
Carolann was a kind soul who loved cats, teaching, fine Brazilian needlework, playing the harp, calligraphy, reading voraciously, studying all religions, and she dreamed of living quietly with nature. She will be dearly missed and will be waiting with her Dad until we all meet again.
