August 18, 1992 - September 5, 2023

In loving memory ~

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Adam Joseph Bailey on September 5th, 2023 at the age of 31. Born August 18th, 1992 in Surrey, British Columbia. Adam faced many challenges in his life, although no matter what came his way, he overcame all obstacles with bravery, courage and strength. Sadly, a recent battle with Pneumonia cut his time here with us on earth short and he decided it was time to go visit his Papa over the rainbow bridge with Kermit in hand.

Predeceased by his Grandpa, Chuck and Adam's beloved canine Ivy, he leaves behind his Mom Heather and Grandma Mary who have dedicated all of their time and devotion to making sure Adam lived a happy, loving and fulfilled life. He will be deeply missed by his Dad for over 20 years Irv, Uncles Greg (Maricel), Mike (Melissa), Brad (Denise) and Richard (Natasha) as well as his cousins, Chelzea (Terry), Dax, Tyler, Shae, Tanner and Hans. Including his family dogs Cloe, Tayja and all of his extended family in Manitoba and Alberta.

There was one very important person in Adam's life that wasn't family but became a part of ours over the last decade. Dr. McKibbin, whom Adam adored more than anyone. The kindness, compassion and deep understanding of Adam will always be deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten. The bond the two of them shared was a beautiful one, even until the very end as Adam took his last breath. Thank you for everything you've done not just for Adam but for us, there are truly not enough words.

There was only one Adam, and all who knew him already knew the effect he had on all of our hearts. He was the most caring soul who always put others before himself. His love had no depths and his family meant everything to him. He was the glue that held us all together and he always found joy in being around family, especially during the holidays. His smile was infectious and he had the best one liners that would make a whole room fill with laughter; he was a true light in this world.

He had a special place in his heart for the Wiggles, whom he got to meet over and over again. They always remembered Adam because he was just the kind of person that you could never forget. Not many people get to meet their heroes, although he did countless times. He was even deemed the 5th Wiggle, which he was very proud and honoured to be. He would always tell you, no matter what to "keep on wiggling." Adam always wanted to do a wiggly tour of the world, and now he can.

We want to thank the Intensive Care Unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital, especially his nurse Asha. We will be having a small and intimate celebration of life for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society - www.lmdss.com

"Someday we'll find it,

the rainbow connection,

the lovers, the dreamers and me."
