An artisan’s market themed around pop star Taylor Swift has been planned for Fort Langley on Saturday March 9.

The “Swiftie Market” isn’t affiliated with the singer, but says it will offer visitors album-themed cocktails, swag bags for the first 100 through the doors, face painting, trivia and games, cover bands, and a chance to win a $1,300 concert ticket for Swift’s Dec. 6 show.

Swift impersonator and drag queen Carrie Dawn is to attend as well.

There will also be a friendship bracelet making station and a photo booth.

The event is to be hosted by Gourmet Groceries, which runs a series of artisan markets around the Lower Mainland.

Chief event planner Anna Chen said the event began partly because of the lack of Swift concerts in Vancouver, with three shows here compared to six in Toronto.

“Most Vancouverites didn’t even get a ticket because someone from out of the country (or province) did instead,” Chen said. “There’s literally not enough of her to go around, and fans deserve a chance to experience what they can. And those that will be attending the concert, can find everything they need at the market, as well as connect with other Swifties on a larger scale.”

This is not Chen’s first local market, as she’s run an Australian Cultural Festival with Langley’s Festina Lente Estate Winery & Meadery, as well as various other markets around the Lower Mainland.

The ticket draw will be free to enter, Chen said, and there will be multiple opportunities to enter during the day.

“We are doing a live draw on Instagram either at the end of the event or the very next day,” she said. There will also be thousands of dollars worth of runner-up prizes.

Those hoping to win must be following @GourmetMarkets on Instagram for their entries to count, she noted.

Thee are three tiers of tickets, starting with free, VIP 1 which costs $19.89, and VIP 2 which costs $31.13. The VIP levels include priority entry and other perks.

The market is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 9 at the Fort Langley Golf Course at 9782 McKinnon Cr. Tickets to the market are being sold through allevents.in.
