A neighbourhood library/book swap was completely destroyed by fire early this morning.
Delta Fire and police responded to a call around 5:30 a.m. that the small wood structure located outside Annieville Elementary School was ablaze.
Fire crews extinguished the flames but not in time to save any of the books and DVDs inside.
Local resident Angelika Hummelman said "it was kind of sad."
"People have been utilizing it," she said. "You see people there all the time. It was full of books."
The remains of the book drop were cleared away by noon today.
Delta Police say they have no suspects.
