Young male arrested after the contents of the canister was sprayed into a bus

A man has been arrested after bear spray was set off in a bus.

On Saturday, at about 7:45 p.m., two men got into an altercation near 140 Street and 92 Avenue, when one of them ran onto a nearby bus.

It’s there, police say he let off a can of bear spray, injuring several passengers and the driver.

No one was seriously injured in the incident.

“It’s painful,”  said Surrey RCMP Sgt. Alana Dunlop.  “But, it’s not lasting in most cases.”

Police did arrest one Surrey male, who cannot be identified because he is a youth.

“We’re continuing to investigate,” Dunlop said.
