Research on Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT) for its Weight Loss Properties

A Revolutionary Weight Losing Agent

Scientifically, brown adipose tissue is a fat burning supplement that has perceived benefits to users. Arguably, it is one of the ideal ways of losing weight without much hustle. Scientific reports indicate that brown adipose tissue is one of the most remarkable natural ways of burning calories. When the body freezes, brown fat is oxidized into heat. Many people uphold the notion that fat works antagonistically towards weight loss. However, reports indicate that brown fat is ideal for weight loss.

Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT) as an Advantage for Health

Doctors have reported numerous advantages of using brown sugar as a weight-loss initiative over any other method or supplement out there in today’s world. The main reasons are outlined below:

It helps in weight loss by burning free radicals and increasing the metabolism rate.

Massive boost to the immune system when combined with other supplements such as Exipure. This is because brown fat burns calories, enhancing the process of cellular renewal in the body. It also stimulates white adipose tissue, which helps in fighting cancer cells.

When used for weight loss, brown adipose tissue melts fats away from the body. It acts as an aid to have a slimmer physique. One can use it on their own or combine it with exercise to get faster results. The best part is that one does not experience any side effects, unlike other diets or exercises out there.

Brown Adipose Tissue Helps with Weight Loss

A study performed by the University of California, Berkeley, shows that brown adipose tissue or commonly known as brown fat, can help with weight loss. This is vital to understand since it increases one’s metabolic rate, which helps with weight loss. This has been proven by research done in mice, where they showed how the mice had more energy after they were exposed to cold temperatures.

Brown adipose tissue, or BAT for short, was first discovered eighty years ago, but its existence was doubted when it could not be found in adults and only found in babies who lack white fat deposits. It is now believed that BAT exists within everyone but may vary depending on genetic factors and hormone levels such as thyroid hormone, which increase metabolism and heat production.

BAT is a type of adipose tissue that accounts for two to four per cent of human body weight. It is found in the upper back, neck, and shoulders area, producing heat by burning energy from white fat deposits. This helps turn the calories into heat instead of storing them as fat cells, making it essential for weight loss.

How to Boost Adipose Tissue

Brown adipose tissue, abundant in lean-bodied people, promotes weight loss by converting fat into energy. Brown adipose tissue is found deep under the skin and around the neck and upper chest area.

Women usually have less brown adipose tissue than men with similar body mass index (BMI) due to their lower testosterone or estrogen levels.

However, there are ways that one can increase the levels of brown adipose tissue. This includes exercising regularly and following a healthy diet, combined with sufficient rest.

A regular workout is essential for increasing the levels of adipose tissue in the body. Therefore, it is necessary to exercise now and then to induce the process of thermogenesis. But for those who can not do regular workouts have different options such as supplements. But not all supplements are recommended because of their trust issues. Exipure is one of the exceptions which can be strongly recommended for this purpose.

Many people hold a misconception that fat can be converted into energy. In reality, this process does not happen when the body requires food. Instead, muscle and liver metabolize fats directly for energy purposes. This means that all extra fats in the body are stored as adipose tissue. Only when a person follows a healthy diet and exercises regularly will fat be converted into energy and put to use by peripheral tissues in the body such as brown adipose tissue.

White Fat Versus Brown Fat

Excess body fat, mainly white adipose tissue (WAT), is a known risk factor for many diseases and conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus type II, and several cancers. The function of WAT differs from a different kind of fat found in the body called brown adipose tissue (BAT). BAT is thermogenically active as opposed to WAT, which serves as an energy reserve. Unlike its counterpart, WAT does not have any significant role in energy expenditure; instead, it stores excess calories as triglycerides.

Once activated by cold temperature, BAT burns catecholamines with oxygen to yield heat through a process called non-shivering thermogenesis. This non-shivering thermogenesis can also occur within skeletal muscle cells, but its negligible contribution to whole-body energy expenditure.

Brown adipocytes are rich in mitochondria with an abundance of iron-containing proteins called UCP1, which facilitates the uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation and thus heat production. This process occurs in the mitochondria of brown adipocytes, where it hydrolyzes stored triglycerides to yield glycerol and free fatty acids, both of which are oxidized by the enzyme HADH2 for further thermogenesis.

Mirabegron (an Overactive Bladder Drug) Increases Brown Fat

It’s been found that a specific drug increases the levels of brown fat.

Mirabegron is a prescription medication that works as an overactive bladder remedy. It increases the emptying of the bowel and bladder by working on a person’s muscles in those areas. To date, it has shown to be effective for many patients with extreme cases of overactive bladder syndrome.

However, recent studies have indicated that mirabegron has side effects apart from being an overactive bladder product. They show that it can promote weight loss without much effort through increased metabolic activity and heightened production of brown fat – lean body tissue, which burns energy naturally when stimulated. Commonly seen in newborns, babies are born with lots of brown fat because it helps them survive the harsh environment.
