Wage increases ‘align with other municipalities’

The City of White Rock and its municipal workers have ratified a new, three-year collective agreement.

According to brief details posted to the city’s website, the deal reached with CUPE 718 includes wage increases of three per cent in 2022, 4.5 per cent in 2023 and four per cent in 2024, as well as a 4.5 per cent one-time payment based on 2022 regular base earnings.

“These increases are in alignment with other municipalities across the Lower Mainland,” the information, posted March 26, states.

The agreement was ratified by the union – representing approximately 200 workers – on March 21; the city followed suit on March 25.
