Since its inception in 1933, the annual Field Day event has grown to involve over 35,000 amateur radio operators in North America. Operators, known as “hams,” set up stations in remote locations using emergency power sources such as generators, batteries or solar power, and over a continuous 24-hour period attempt to make contact with as many other amateur stations as possible. DARS will be establishing seven radio stations providing communications using voice, data and Morse code. The park is open to the public and all are welcome to visit from 11 a.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday. For more information, please visit deltaamateurradio.com/fieldday.
