Another food truck fest is coming to Cloverdale.

The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival (GVFTF) is bringing what they’re calling a “block party” to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds June 3 and 4.

“We expect many foodies and families eager to try out our delicious trucks,” Lucy Jakoncic, one of the event organizers, said via email. “Not to mention we are located on the stomping grounds of the Cloverdale Rodeo Exhibition.”

The food truck festival will include food, of course, but there will also be live music both days (see list of entertainers below).

Jakoncic said there’ll be more than 25 food trucks on hand—along with that live music—and “plenty” of market vendors, local beers, and talented local musicians.

Jakoncic said it’s an opportunity to enjoy fantastic food while spending time with family friends.

“For us, it’s all about community and bringing everyone together,” Jakoncic added. “The festival will be family and dog friendly, with activities for kids and adults alike.”

Jakoncic noted there will also be vegan and vegetarian food options at the two-day event.

Jason Faria, the man who runs the GVFTF, told the Cloverdale Reporter in February, the idea with the block-party concept was to spark the interest of locals and make it more of an event.

“We’re trying to ignite community collaboration,” explained Faria.

He said that collaboration is designed to bring about a block party atmosphere complete with tonnes of great food options. He said GVFTF is also working with a bunch of local partners to make an event that showcases the best of Cloverdale.

“It’s about the community. It’s a local community event and we want to get the local community involved.”

The two-day, block-party style festival runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days and is free to attend.

Other Lower Mainland food truck fests that GVFTF is putting on in 2023 include: Langley Community Days, June 10 at Douglas Park; Mission Block Party, June 24 to 25 at Heritage Park; Chilliwack Ribfest, July 28 to 30 at Vedder Park; and Feast of Ales in Maple Ridge, Sept. 15 to 17 at Albion Fairgrounds.

The Agriplex is located at 6050 176 Street in Cloverdale.
