Romance, string theory, and beekeeping.

What connects these random things? It could only be Constellations, a play that premiered in London in 2012 and performed worldwide, from Australia to Amsterdam and all points in between. The play will be gracing the stage at the North Delta Centre for the Arts on April 26 and 27 for a curtain of 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 for concession and bar service.

“The City of Delta is proud to present another production that showcases the vibrant arts and culture scene in our community,” said Delta Mayor George V. Harvie. “Following the resounding success of their previous production, ‘Murder for Two,’ last spring, I’m thrilled that our Cultural Services team is embarking on a new project, bringing to life the captivating story of ‘Constellations.’ This production is a testament to the talent and creativity that thrives right here in Delta and I can’t wait for us to share it with the whole community.”

‘Constellations,’ written by Nick Payne, has been meticulously directed and overseen by City of Delta staff. It unravels the deeply moving love story between Roland, a beekeeper, and Marianne, a physicist. Their tale, originating from an improbable encounter at a barbecue, unfolds across parallel moments, exploring the infinite trajectories of love and the profound impact of choices on relationships. This play challenges conventional notions of time and space, showcasing the myriad possibilities that love can offer.

The dynamic duo of Rob Fawcett and Rachel Ruecker were chosen from a pool of twenty-two talented actors during auditions held in January. They have been diligently rehearsing to bring these characters to life. Behind the scenes, Delta Cultural Services staff Jordy Matheson and Tatty Mitchell are the stage and sound/light directors.
