A White Rock man is feeling “fortunate” after finding out he is the lucky winner of a Lotto 6/49 $1 million prize.
“The first thought that came to mind was, ‘How am I going to change my life and my family’s life?’” Joshua Stan, the winner, said in a press release.
It was 1 a.m. on April 3 when Stan discovered he won – but tried to keep quiet, as his family was fast asleep – until his mother awoke and shared in the joy with her son.
Stan plans to use the winnings toward a down payment on a house, to travel, to support his parents and to attend many football games, with the goal to catch a game at every (NFL) stadium.

“It’s going to change my life. This will provide me with support and I’ll be able to take care of those that I love,” Stan said.
Purchased at the Chevron gas station on Martin Drive in South Surrey, Stan joins the ranks of other lottery winners in B.C. who have won more than $98 million from Lotto 6/49, the release notes.
