Gray Elementary will be getting a new playground under the Corporation of Delta’s Community Initiated Cost Sharing Project fund.

Over the last five years Gray Elementary’s Parent Advisory Committee has raised roughly $76,000 for a playground replacement. In January 2017, they put forward a proposal to cost share the new playground with the Corporation.

The total cost of the replacement is estimated at $117,000 according to the January letter submitted to council. The cost for the playground equipment is just over $93,500.

The Corporation has agreed to provide a $35,000 grant for the replacement; the Gray Elementary PAC will contribute the remaining $58,500.

The Delta School District will also be providing $20,000 worth of in-kind services to help remove the existing playground structure and prepare the site for new equipment.
