Were Surrey’s advance voters eager to have their say, or simply eager to get voting out of the way?
It warms the heart to see that 70,895 of the 353,652 eligible voters in Surrey, White Rock and North Delta saw fit to vote in advance this provincial election, but the verdict’s still out on total voter participation. It’d be great to learn that the remaining 282,757 vote tomorrow, but we’ll see.

Interestingly, this time more local people voted in advance in ridings with Liberal incumbents than they did in ridings that went NDP in the 2013 provincial election.
Whether advanced voting turnout reflects eagerness to vote or people simply taking advantage of the convenience advanced polling affords is anyone’s guess.
