Those wishing to stroll around Granville Island in Vancouver on Saturday afternoon could not get there by car because of a sinkhole.
Officials encouraged people to park off-island and walk, or use a bike or the bus. The False Creek Ferries added extra sailings.
City staff say it’s because of a burst sewer pipe. Cars were later allowed off the island, albeit it very slowly.
