With little more than six weeks left until the provincial election, a new poll released Tuesday suggests about 45 per cent of B.C.’s voters aren’t sure which party leader they see as the most authentic.

Green Party leader Andrew Weaver scored the highest on this trait, with 23 per cent of respondents, with NDP leader John Horgan was slightly behind at 20 per cent and Premier Christy Clark at 12 per cent.

More than half of voters said they thought Clark would say anything to get elected, compared to 18 per cent for Horgan and and two per cent for Weaver.

Despite that, Clark remains only three percentage points below Horgan in approval ratings at 36 per cent, with Weaver sitting at 29 per cent.

The poll doesn’t suggest there’s a clear winner yet for May 9. The numbers suggest the Liberals and the NDP were almost tied at 40 and 41 per cent, respectively, with the Greens getting 11 per cent of the vote and the Conservatives trailing with five per cent.

Voters were undecided as to who would make the best dinner guest, with all three party leaders earning about one-fifth of the vote.
