White Rock-South Surrey Titans edge Westside for VMFL peewee title

Minor football season ends with win; spring flag season coming up next

The season came to an end for local minor football squads last weekend and one – the White Rock-South Surrey peewee Titans – ended on a winning note.

On Saturday, the nine-a-side peewee team, coached by Ryan Quintana, captured a Vancouver Mainland Football League title with a 14-8 victory over Vancouver’s Westside Warriors.

Earlier in the day, the Titans’ atom-division team finished second after a Presidents Cup-game loss to the North Surrey Thunderbirds.

Though the season is just finished, local organizers are already looking ahead to 2019, and are currently accepting registration for the Titans’ spring flag football program, which is open to players from eight to 18 years old. Registration deadline is Feb. 24 but those interested are encouraged to sign up early, as space is limited. For more information, visit www.letsgotitans.com
