Lawn bowling club hosts regional tourney in White Rock

Mann Park Lawn Bowling Club in White Rock will be hosting a tournament for the region on July 21.

A lawn bowling club in White Rock will be hosting the District Inter-Club Tournament and Mixed Triples Vancouver for local and regional teams, and anyone interested is encouraged to attend.

Mann Park Lawn Bowling Club will be hosting the events for both White Rock clubs and others around the Lower Mainland on Sunday, July 21.

"The local community is invited to come out and watch the game played at the highest level, as 16 teams of bowlers strive for top spot in the competition," reads a news release from the club.

Linda Ng, who competed in the World Indoor Bowls Championship 2024, will be participating in the event, after returning from the championship in Guernsey in the Channel Islands with two bronze medals.

B.C.'s Ng came back with titles in women's single play and in the mixed pairs categories.

"Other notable players in this Sunday’s inter-club tournament will include several current provincial champions: Mann Park LBC’s Bernice Urbaniak, Richmond LBC’s Rainbow Lung, and White Rock LBC’s Dave and Sharon Baldwin."

Mann Park will also be hosting a Mixed Fours competition on Aug. 25 and a Women's Triples competition on Sept. 8.

The July 21 competition runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the club, located at 14560 North Bluff Rd. White Rock.
