Surrey Eagles win Game 7 to fly into the second round of BCHL playoffs

Surrey Eagles won Game 7 of their first-round playoff series Sunday night in Chilliwack.

In a 3-2 victory, Hudson Schandor scored twice for the Eagles and Christian Fitzgerald added a solo goal.

In the second round of BC Hockey League playoffs, the Eagles will now face Coquitlam Express in the Mainland Division final.

On Saturday night, the Eagles forced a game 7 with a 4-3 win over the Chiefs at South Surrey Arena. The Birds fell behind twice, then took the lead late in the third period and held on until final buzzer.

Prior to Game 7, the Eagles called on their fans to come support the team in Chilliwack.

“We’re encouraging Eagles fans to join us in Chilliwack to cheer on the boys inside the Chilliwack Coliseum. Our Eagles family will be sitting in section S of the Chilliwack Coliseum… Hope to see you there,” the statement read.
