Cloverdale is hosting another provincial championship tournament.

The Cloverdale Spurs U11 AAA Tier 2 squad will host nine teams from across the province July 28 to 31. The teams that will be participating are: Abbotsford Angels, Campbell River Tyees, Cloverdale Spurs, Ladner Red Sox, Nanaimo Pirates, North Delta Rays, North Langley Trappers, Prince George Knights, Salmon Arm Hornets, and the Vernon Canadians.

“This very exciting event will be held right here at Cloverdale Ball Park with 10 of the best teams travelling from all over B.C. to compete for the championship,” Tanya McKnight told the Cloverdale Reporter.

McKnight, a team parent, said the big weekend begins with opening ceremonies and a skills competition on July 28 at 5 p.m.

“Games set to begin Friday at 8:30 a.m. continuing throughout the day and all over the weekend,” McKnight added.

McKnight said when the U11 team heard there may not be a host for provincials, the parents coaches and players jumped at the chance to host, even with a short turnaround time.

“We are trying our best to make this an amazing experience for everyone participating,” she said. “We could not make this possible without the hard work of the parents and the help and support from the community.”

McKnight asked if anyone in the community is willing to help, support, or volunteer in any way or offer a sponsorship or donation, she can be reached via email at u11spurs2022@gmail.com

“And please come out to cheer on your Cloverdale Spurs!”

All games to be played at Cloverdale Ball Park. There is no admission to watch the games.

Cloverdale Ball Park is located at 17383 61A Avenue.
