December 28, 1928 – February 1, 2017 Helen passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional Hospital, surrounded by the love of family. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, and is survived by her sons Stephen (Denise) and Gerald (Melissa), and daughter Clare (Will), along with grandchildren Ian, Clare, Liam, Brendan and Michaela, along with great grandchildren Mayson, Mikaela and Marx. Helen was born in Glasgow, Scotland and moved her family to Canada in 1966. After a 6 month stop in Port Alice, BC, the family settled in Powell River, BC in the spring of 1967 before moving to Surrey, BC in 1977. Helen dedicated her life to her family and to being a servant of Our Lord Jesus Christ. When not taking care of her family, Helen could be found volunteering in many roles at Our Lady of Good Council church in Surrey. In particular, Helen spent many hours volunteering with the Saint Vincent De Paul Society. Services were held at the Gardens of Gethsemani, 15800 32 Ave., Surrey, BC at 11am on Tuesday, February 7. A private memorial gathering was be held for friends and family following the service. Rest in peace, Mom, you are forever in our thoughts and in our prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saint Vincent De Paul Society.
