It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our much-loved father Harbhajan Singh Duhra on the morning of Friday October 1st, 2021 in Surrey, BC at the age of 90.
Harbhajan was born on June 28th, 1931 to Shiv Singh and Basant Kaur in Duhre, India. When he immigrated to Canada he came to Vancouver Island and eventually settled in Surrey.
He and his late wife Parkash Kaur were early Surrey pioneers who played an integral role helping to establish the Sikh community and founding the 1st Surrey/Delta Gudwara.
Harbhajan is survived by his loving son Ravinder (Bindi) Duhra, daughter Rajinder Duhra and daughter Perm Jawanda (husband Jas Jawanda)
He also leaves behind his 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A lunch and prayer will be held at Brookside Gurdwara (8365 140th Street, Surrey) at 3:00 P.M on Thursday October 7th.
