Born in Cudworth Saskatchewan and raised in East Vancouver, Del is survived by his wife Joanne of 60 years, and his sons David (Marilee), Ryan and his loyal dog Buddy, Wade (Kristie), grandchildren, Jordan (Jocelyn), Carly (Austin), Jenna (Jaden), Blake, Justin as well as great grandchildren, Sam, Hailey and Oliver.
Del was a quiet & humble man, who along with Joanne, provided everything their Surrey BC family could ever need or want. Del was a part time resident of Gun Lake BC since 1971 where he built and maintained a family property.
Del had a career as a Marine Electrician (Sea-Bee Electric) and retired from his second career with Shaw Cable in 2001. He loved to tinker with anything mechanical or electrical and was always available to help family and friends with his expertise including more than one grandchild's science fair project. He will forever be remembered as the grandpa who could fix anything.
He was kind and generous and made everyone around him better. He will be deeply missed by anyone fortunate enough have had him in their life.
Special thanks to the Palliative Care Team at SMH and Fraser Health who made it possible for Del to be at the home he had built (1964-66), surrounded by his family at the end, his final wish.
