It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Dan (Danny) Garbett on January 8, 2022. He is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Ruth.
Dan was born May 18, 1968 and spent his youth in North Delta as a superb athlete and member of several rep soccer and baseball teams. His love of soccer continued right
up until his final hours; if he wasn't on the field playing with his Coastal Legends team, he was watching matches of his favourite team (Liverpool) on any available TV or
tablet.
Sports aside, Dan's greatest joy in life was his son Matthew, who brought him extraordinary comfort by being by his side at his passing. Dan is also survived by his sister,
Jennifer (Maury), his stepmother Brenda, and countless close friends and extended family.
Dan was described by his sister as the richest man she knew; as in the end a man's worth is not measured by the size of his bank account but by how many loved him; and in Dan's case, he was a billionaire.
A celebration of life for Dan will be held at a later date, when gathering restrictions are lifted.
