WorkSafeBC is investigating following a workplace incident in White Rock this morning.
Spokesperson Erica Simpson told Peace Arch News by email that WorkSafeBC was alerted at 8:29 a.m. “about a workplace incident in White Rock whereby a worker was injured at a construction site.”
“According to preliminary information about the incident (not confirmed) it would fall under the ‘struck-by’ category,” she said.
Simpson said the site was identified as 15241 Thrift Ave.
She could not comment on the worker’s health status, citing privacy, however, area residents report seeing one person lifted from the site by crane. Photographs of the scene show emergency crews – paramedics, firefighters and police – in the 1400-block of George Street.
“A WorkSafeBC Prevention officer has been assigned and is responding,” Simpson said.
