Extremely high winds, with gusts up to 90 km/h are forecast for Delta and the region. The storm is expected to ease this evening, but is likely to pick up again on Saturday.

In a press release, the City of Delta is reminding residents to be cautious while commuting or outside due to the inclement weather.

“The public is urged to stay away from dikes and shoreline areas, and avoid wooded areas where possible,” the release states. “Take time to ensure that all objects exposed to wind around your homes or businesses are tightly secured or moved to enclosed areas.”
