VIDEO: Motorcyclist with no license ticketed after surviving crash

Surrey RCMP say the man drove into oncoming traffic and crossed double lines

SURREY — A young man with no license got away with minor injuries after flying into a gate on a motorcycle.

Police say the man, 22, drove into oncoming traffic and crossed double lines in an attempt to pass four vehicles shortly after 9 a.m. in the 12100-block of 81st Avenue on Friday, Sept. 1.

After passing three of the four vehicles, police say the man clipped a Honda Civic and flew into the gate of a home.

He was unconscious at the scene and was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.

Police say he only suffered “minor head injuries, some lacerations and broken bones in the arms, but other than that was OK.”

Surrey RCMP gave the man a couple of tickets: One for driving without due care, and another for driving without insurance or a license.

The 31-year-old woman who was driving the Honda didn’t suffer injuries, police say, as her vehicle was just “clipped.”
