‘Vehicular homicide’ warrant leads to arrest at South Surrey border

U.S. border officials say a man wanted for vehicular homicide has been arrested at the Pacific Highway port.

According to a news release issued just before noon Monday, the arrest occurred on the evening of Dec. 16.

The warrant is out of Thurston County, Wash., in connection with a 2017 impaired-driving incident involving a commercial semi-truck.

At the border Sunday, a 35-year-old permanent U.S. resident was taken into custody by Washington State Patrol and transported to jail, according to the release.

Few other details were shared.
