Police say a pregnant Vancouver woman targeted in a double shooting Friday is in critical condition and has lost her unborn child.

Police said the incident happened at 6 a.m. in the Vancouver woman’s apartment on Industrial Avenue near Scotia Street.

There, the woman, 31, was shot before she called 911, police said. When officers arrived they found a 23-year-old Langley man, also suffering form gunshot wounds, in the same apartment.

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

“It’s still very early in the investigation, but initial information leads us to believe this was a targeted shooting, unrelated to gang conflict,” Const. Jason Doucette.

Police say no arrestes have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
