Richmond RCMP and IHIT are investigating a homicide.

RCMP are looking for witnesses after a 24-year-old Surrey man died of stab wounds Friday night at Richmond General Hospital.

Francis Le was found in the hospital parking lot just after 11:30 p.m. He was being treated when Richmond police arrived, but succumbed to his injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team believes the death was targeted, but that it was not related to Richmond’s two other targeted homicides in January. In contrast, Vancouver police just reported that city’s first slaying of 2017 on Friday night.

Cpl. Meghan Foster of IHIT said that the motive and location of this latest death is unknown. Anyone with information is asked to contact the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448), or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. Should you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
