TransLink is seeking the public’s input on its southwest area transport plan.

The regional transportation authority is asking people who live, work or play in — or commute through — Richmond, South Delta and the Tsawwassen First Nation to to provide feedback on proposed changes and improvements for the region.

According to a TransLink press release, the area transport plan is the blueprint for transit and transportation in the sub-region, including transit service, infrastructure, regional cycling, walking and driving.

Actions proposed in the plan include increasing service on key bus routes to ensure 15-minute-or-better frequency for most of the day, providing more reliable and convenient bus service, and identifying key corridors for cycling investment.

The proposed changes being considered are in addition to already-planned improvements linked to TransLink’s 10-year vision.

As part of phase two of its public consultation process, TransLink is asking the public to fill out a survey online, complete a paper survey at one of 11 locations or come to one of its in-person events around the sub-region.

Feedback gathered during this consultation will help TransLink prioritize opportunities and make plans for the future to be implemented as funding becomes available or resources allow.

Information on proposed changes, paper survey locations and the online survey can be found at translink.ca/swatp. A summary of Phase 1 of the Southwest Area Transport Plan consultation, conducted last year, is also available on the website.

Surveys will be available at the following events:

• Ladner May Days: May 28, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Steveston Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market: June 4, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
