Snow blankets the Lower Mainland

Accumulations up to 20 centimetres expected – snowfall likely to turn to rain by Monday.

The Lower Mainland was hit with an expected blanket of snow on Sunday morning.

City crews kept busy overnight and throughout the day to keep roads clear.

On the Alex Fraser Bridge, workers were spotted clearing snow on the beam of the south tower (photo below).

Environment Canada predicts another 10 to 20 centimetres of snow by nightfall.

The snowfall should turn to rain overnight.
