A rainfall warning is in effect for Metro Vancouver.

"A moist Pacific frontal system has stalled across the South Coast and is expected to remain nearly stationary until midday Wednesday bringing a long period of rainfall to the city," reports Environment Canada. "Rainfall intensity will fluctuate through the period but is expected to be heavy at times. Storm total rainfall amounts until Wednesday afternoon are likely to range from 40 to 80 mm with the highest amounts near the North Shore."

Environment Canada warns heavy downpours can cause flash flooding and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
