A man wanted for possession of child pornography in Quebec was located and arrested by the Langley RCMP this month, and is has been sent back east to face the charges.

The local Mounties worked with the BC Fugitive Return Program and the Surete du Quebec’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit to locate, arrest, and return the man to Quebec, said Cpl. Brett Urano, a spokesperson for the BC RCMP.

James Kastanis, 35, was wanted for multiple charges, including possession of child pornography, access to child pornography, and possession of a controlled substance.

He was held in custody after his arrest, and then returned to Quebec on May 9 with the BC Sheriff Service facilitating the transfer, said Urano.

“We are proud of our officers and our partner agencies for all the great work into this investigation,” Urano said. “This arrest was due to the great work amongst multiple agencies to get Kastanis into custody.”
