Update (10:30 a.m.): Police now say injuries in the three-vehicle South Surrey crash are not life-threatening.

Police closed a pair of South Surrey roads for several hours this morning, following a serious crash.

The three-vehicle collision – involving a Jeep, Kia Soul and a Jaguar – happened at approximately 12:21 a.m. at the intersection of 24 Avenue and Croydon Drive. The Jaguar and Kia suffered significant front-end damage; the bulk of damage to the Jeep was to the passenger side.

In a news release issued just after 1 a.m., Surrey RCMP said there were “serious potentially life-threatening injuries” as a result of the collision. No further details on victims or injuries have been released.

Police closed 24 Avenue in both directions between the Highway 99 overpasss and 160 Street.

Croydon Drive was also closed to south- and northbound traffic. A tow truck arrived on the scene at 7:45 a.m., and the roads were reopened shortly before 9 a.m.
