One man killed, another wounded in overnight shooting in Surrey

Homicide detectives say a man was shot dead and another was taken to hospital with serious gunshot wounds shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, in the 13600-block of 114th Avenue in Surrey.

Police have set up a yellow barricade tape and canopy tent at Bolivar Park in North Surrey.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is on the case.

“The victims are known to police and this is believed to be a targeted incident,” said Surrey RCMP Constable Richard Wright.

Investigators are appealing to witnesses, and anyone with video surveillance or dash-can video to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).

There have been 18 homicides in Surrey so far this year, including this one. Vancouver has had nine.
