The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest. It is submitted weekly by the Delta Police Department.

The following are some of the calls the Delta Police responded to in the previous week:
• June 21, 5:44 a.m., 1600-block Cliveden Ave.: Complainant reported that sometime overnight several gallons of diesel fuel had been siphoned from a company vehicle that was parked at the business. Approximate value of fuel is $230.
June 23, 4:45 p.m., 116th and Nordel Way: Complainant reported having parked their vehicle on the side of the road after running out of gas around 3:00 a.m. Upon returning 30 minutes later, complainant found their vehicle was gone. Tow yards were contacted with negative results. Vehicle was added to the police database as stolen.
June 24, 4:29 p.m., 8300-block 116A Street: Complainant reported the theft of a red and white mountain bike from their open carport. An 18-speed mountain bike was left in its place. Approximate value of the stolen bike is $400.
June 26, 7:54 a.m., 1500-block Cliveden Ave.: Complainant reported that sometime between June 23 and 26 the front license plate was stolen from a commercial vehicle while it was parked in the open parking lot of the business. The license plate number was entered into the police database.
June 24, 10:17 a.m., 8300-block 112th St.: An unknown male entered a local business wanting to exchange five US $20 bills for Canadian dollars. The employee recognized the bills as counterfeit. Police attended and seized the counterfeit money. The male was unaware the bills were counterfeit.
