UPDATE: Nordel Way reopened after several hour closure

The overpass was the site of a fatal car accident this afternoon

Nordel Way has been reopened after a several hour closure following a fatal collision at 12:10 p.m. today.

One person was killed in the two-vehicle accident. According to a photographer on the scene, a westbound SUV crossed the median and struck an eastbound garbage bin hauler. The SUV driver was pronounced dead on the scene.

Delta police are investigating, and said they were in the process of notifying the next of kin this afternoon.
