Jas Johal latest star candidate for BC Liberals

Ex-TV reporter turned LNG industry spokesman now enters provincial politics in Richmond-Queensborough

Former Global TV reporter Jas Johal will run for the BC Liberals in the provincial election.

Prominent former TV journalist  Jas Johal has been acclaimed to run as a BC Liberal party candidate in Richmond-Queensborough in the provincial election next May.

Johal, a former Global TV reporter with more than two decades of experience, left journalism in 2014 to become communications director of the B.C. LNG Alliance, a role he left last month.

He also served a one-year term as a government-appointed director on the board of the Fraser Health Authority in 2015-16.

Johal is just one of the high-profile candidate landed by the BC Liberals.

Veteran businesswoman Tracy Redies, former CEO of Coast Capital Savings, is running in Surrey-White Rock.
