Delta’s annual Free Compost Week is just around the corner.

This year’s event takes place from Saturday, March 26 to Sunday, April 3. Delta residents are eligible to pick up a maximum of one cubic metre of free compost over the duration of the week-long event.

Compost can be picked up at the City of Vancouver Landfill, located at 5400 72nd Street in Delta. Proof of residency (e.g. a driver’s licence, property tax notice or utility bill) is required.

Compost is a fantastic resource for your garden, feeding plants and helping them retain moisture. You can spread it around the base of shrubs, trees and perennials, or rake it onto your lawn to keep your turf healthy. It can also be used to help create new garden beds.
