VIDEO: Fire destroys abandoned motel in Surrey

Crews called to blaze Sunday morning

Surrey firefighters responded to a structure fire at a vacant motel early Sunday morning.

Crews were called just after 2:30 a.m. to find the single-storey structure fully engulfed in flames near the 8300-block of King George Blvd.

“Crews arrived to find a vacant/abandoned single story building that used to be a motel at an RV park and is the last structure on the large property that is being redeveloped,” Shane MacKichan, who witnessed the fire, emailed to Peace Arch News.
