Delta Police are investigating a string of mail box break ins earlier this week.

On Sept. 11, police responded to four separate incidents of mail box theft that had occurred sometime overnight at four apartment buildings between the 1100-block and the 1600-block of 55 St. in Tsawwassen.

The suspect(s) made entry to the buildings’ secure lobbies, in some cases causing damage to front door plates and others gaining access with no apparent damage. In all four instances the bank of mailboxes had been breached, though it is unknown if any mail had been stolen.

Police are reminding citizens to pick up mail daily whenever possible and to follow up with financial institutions or retailers when expecting a credit card in the mail. Additionally, it is advised to follow up with any government agency if expected documents are not received in the anticipated time frame.

Delta Police forensic ident officers did attend the locations of the thefts to attempt to gather any evidence left behind by the suspect(s). Police are continuing with their investigation into these thefts and are asking citizens to report any suspicious person in their area.
