A tree down across wires is being blamed for this morning’s (Feb. 22) power outage in South Surrey/White Rock.
Nearly 3,000 customers on the Semiahmoo Peninsula were left without power, following an outage that hit just before 11 a.m. The tree came down in the 1900-block of 160 Street, according to a BC Hydro spokesperson.
The area affected was bordered by 28 Avenue to the north, 152 Street to the west, Russell Avenue to the south and 168 Street to the east.
Power was restored at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Other areas in South Surrey also unexpectedly without power Tuesday included small pockets in the 15300-block of 26 Avenue and near 192 Street south of 3A Avenue. According to BC Hydro’s online outage list, those have also been restored.
