A tree down across wires is being blamed for this morning’s (Feb. 22) power outage in South Surrey/White Rock.

Nearly 3,000 customers on the Semiahmoo Peninsula were left without power, following an outage that hit just before 11 a.m. The tree came down in the 1900-block of 160 Street, according to a BC Hydro spokesperson.

The area affected was bordered by 28 Avenue to the north, 152 Street to the west, Russell Avenue to the south and 168 Street to the east.
