If you’ve been craving the chance to indulge in new local dining experiences, there’s no better time than the first annual Dine Around Delta.

Hosted March 12 to 28 by We Love Delta, the event echoes similar events in Vancouver, Victoria and elsewhere – always popular with both foodies and families alike. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover both restaurants new to you and to sample creative new menus from longtime favourites.

Running throughout Spring Break in Ladner, Tsawwassen and North Delta, Dine Around offers a delicious staycation adventure that also supports the community’s restaurants and staff.

“This is a way for people to support a sector that has been really hard hit in our community and to do it in a fun way as they look for close-to-home experiences during Spring Break,” says Jane Stark, from Tourism Delta.

Each Dine Around Delta prix fixe menus typically include an appetizer, dessert and entrée, and many will recommend a beverage pairing, for an extra fee, showcasing BC wine, beer, cider or spirits. Photo courtesy Tourism Delta.

Here’s how it works

A celebration of local businesses, local tastes and dining together with those in your bubble, participating restaurants present a three-course meal at either $25, $35 or $45 for those dining in. A unique take-away special is also offered as traditional take-out, take-and-bake or meal kits, depending on the restaurant’s food style.

The flexibility of the menu options is designed to include operators who have pivoted to take-away during COVID and to welcome people who may be hesitant to dine in during the pandemic to support local business.

Those serving lunch specials can offer menus at $15, $25 or $35.

Now that restaurants can also offer packaged alcohol with take-away, watch for perfect pairings for those options, too.

In supporting local restaurants, diners will experience great tastes crafted by talented local chefs while helping support the local economy.
